Just after Christmas I travelled with Marianne from Marianne Taylor Photography up to Derbyshire to shoot our last wedding of 2009 as Katie and Sam got married in the gorgeous Hassop Hall. I got to spend some time with the groom, his best man and the ushers before the ceremony to get some getting ready shots of them.
My observations: The guys make more mess than the girls do getting ready, their jokes are very dubious, but they do scrub up well, don't they? :)
Hassop Hall is such a stunning manor house near Bakewell and its history goes back 900 years. Being able to roam around the place on my own at the start of the day just took my breath away. Katie and Sam couldn't have chosen better, the venue suited them so well.
The air was filled with excitement and happiness throughout the day and even the cold snap and snow couldn't hinder the days festivities.
This photo above says exactly how gorgeous Katie looked on the day I think. She was such a beautiful and happy bride. It really is a joy to photograph weddings like these.
Really, really gorgeous, don't you agree? :)
What a gorgeous wedding this was overall! As usual my duties behind the camera ended at the reception, so for the full report and more photos please head to Marianne's blog. Trust me, you want to see how the day unfolded and how Marianne works her magic behind the camera!
I have to say that we really ended the year on a high. Thank you so much Marianne for letting me assist you in the most amazing weddings in 2009! I really look forward what 2010 has in store for us!
